An Act To Authorize the Public Advocate To Publish and Distribute Consumer Information
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 35-A MRSA §1702, sub-§11 is enacted to read:
11. Information for consumers. The Public Advocate may publish in printed copy or post on its publicly accessible website, or both, information and advice for consumers in the State relating to regulated services provided by public utilities, unregulated services provided by public utilities and unregulated services provided by any entity relating to telecommunications, electricity delivery or supply, gas delivery or supply and municipal drinking water. Telecommunications services include, but are not limited to, telephone service, Internet service, video service, wireless phone service, satellite service and voice over Internet protocol service.
SUMMARY
This bill authorizes the Public Advocate to publish information and advice for consumers in the State concerning services such as telecommunications, electricity and gas delivery and supply and municipal drinking water services.
