An Act To Require Institutions To Report Knowledge or Suspicion of Criminal Violations to a Law Enforcement Agency
Sec. 1. 17-A MRSA §63 is enacted to read:
§ 63. Report of criminal activity
The administration of an institution supported by public funds that provides a public service shall immediately report or cause a report to be made to the appropriate law enforcement agency any knowledge or suspicion of a crime or criminal activity that is taking or has taken place on the grounds of the institution. A person who violates this section commits a civil violation for which a fine of not more than $100 may be adjudged.
