An Act To Exempt Snowmobile Clubs from Certain Department of Transportation Sign Requirements
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 23 MRSA §1913-A, sub-§1, ¶H, as amended by PL 1999, c. 152, Pt. G, §2, is further amended to read:
H. Signs bearing political messages relating to an election, primary or referendum, provided except that these signs may not be placed within the right-of-way prior to 6 weeks before the election, primary or referendum to which they relate and must be removed by the candidate or political committee not later than one week thereafter; and
Sec. 2. 23 MRSA §1913-A, sub-§1, ¶I, as enacted by PL 1999, c. 152, Pt. G, §3, is amended to read:
I. Adopt-A-Highway Program signs allowed under section 1117 . ; and
Sec. 3. 23 MRSA §1913-A, sub-§1, ¶J is enacted to read:
J. Directional signs of a snowmobile club affiliated with a statewide nonprofit association established for the purpose of promoting snowmobiling.
