An Act To Protect Working Mothers Who Breast-feed
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 5 MRSA §4572-A, sub-§6 is enacted to read:
6. Employee with nursing child. It is unlawful employment discrimination in violation of this Act, except where based on a bona fide occupational qualification, for an employer to fail to provide to an employee with a nursing child the accommodations required under Title 26, section 604.
SUMMARY
This bill provides that it is unlawful employment discrimination under the Maine Human Rights Act for an employer to fail to provide certain workplace accommodations for an employee with a nursing child.
