An Act To Protect Maine's Environment and Natural Resources Jeopardized by Mining
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. PL 2011, c. 653 is repealed.
Sec. 2. Rules. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Maine Land Use Planning Commission and the Department of Environmental Protection are authorized to adopt emergency rules pursuant to the Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2 as necessary to administer the laws as the result of the repeal of Public Law 2011, chapter 653.

This bill repeals changes to the mining laws enacted in 2012 and scheduled to take effect June 1, 2014 and authorizes the Maine Land Use Planning Commission and the Department of Environmental Protection to adopt emergency rules as necessary.
