Joint Order, To Require the Joint Standing Committee on Judiciary To Investigate Public Remarks by the Governor
ORDERED, the Senate concurring, that the Joint Standing Committee on Judiciary shall investigate the comments made publicly by Governor Paul R. LePage to determine whether those comments are actionable. The committee shall investigate the remarks made by the Governor that have been insulting, discourteous or disparaging of others, including, but not limited to, the remarks made by the Governor to the press on Thursday, June 20, 2013 and those that have brought national attention to Maine in an unflattering or embarrassing manner. The committee shall report its findings and recommendation for action, which may include censure, to the House and Senate.
