An Act To Include Raising Equines in the Definition of Agriculture for the Purpose of the Maine Workers' Compensation Act of 1992
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 39-A MRSA §102, sub-§2, ¶B, as enacted by PL 1991, c. 885, Pt. A, §8 and affected by §§9 to 11, is amended to read:
B. The raising of livestock , including equines and poultry , on those premises; or

This bill amends the definition of "agriculture" as used in the Maine Workers' Compensation Act of 1992 to include the raising of equines. Equines are similarly included in "products used in animal agriculture" for purposes of providing an exemption from the sales and use tax.
