An Act To Strengthen the Law Prohibiting Black Market Wagering on Harness Horse Races
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 8 MRSA §300-A, sub-§1, as amended by PL 2005, c. 683, Pt. C, §3, is repealed and the following enacted in its place:
1. Illegal wagering on horse races. A person located in the State may not place a bet on a harness horse race with any person, firm or entity not licensed by the commission. A person who accepts a wager placed in violation of this subsection is liable for the damages specified in this section.
