Amend the resolution by striking out the title and substituting the following:
‘RESOLUTION, Proposing an Amendment to the Constitution of Maine To Require That the Attorney General Be Elected Quadrennially by Popular Vote on a Nonpartisan Ballot’
Amend the resolution in that part designated "Constitution, Art. IX, §11" in Section 11 in the first line (page 1, line 5 in L.D.) by inserting after the following: " biennially" the following: ' quadrennially'
Amend the resolution in that part designated "Constitution, Art. IX, §11" in Section 11 in the 2nd line (page 1, line 6 in L.D.) by striking out the following: " the same date" and inserting the following: ' a nonpartisan ballot beginning in 2014'
Amend the resolution in the question in the 2nd line (page 1, line 19 in L.D.) by striking out the following: "biennially" and inserting the following: 'quadrennially'
SUMMARY
This amendment is the minority report of the committee and proposes the quadrennial election of the Attorney General by nonpartisan ballot beginning in 2014.
