An Act To Change the Process for Student Transfers from an Alternative Organizational Structure
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Maine as follows:
Sec. 1. 20-A MRSA §5205, sub-§6-B is enacted to read:
6-B. Transfer students from an alternative organizational structure. The local school committee of the sending school, established pursuant to section 1478, of an alternative organizational structure has the authority to approve student transfer requests. For purposes of chapter 606-B, a student transferred under this subsection is considered a resident of the alternative organizational structure or the regional school unit to which the student transferred.
SUMMARY
This bill gives a local school committee of an alternative organizational structure the authority to approve student transfer requests.
