The bill includes
a one-time General Fund appropriation to the Department of Marine Resources
in fiscal year 2013-14 to promote and market Maine lobsters. |

The initiative
text and summary indicate the appropriation is made to the Lobster Promotion
Council, a separate entity. However,
the bill as written appropriates the funding to the Department of Marine
Resources. If the intent is to
appropriate the money directly to the Lobster Promotion Council then the bill
would need to be amended to reflect the correct agency and program names. |
