Fiscal Detail
and Notes |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The bill includes
a General Fund appropriation to the Department of Defense, Veterans and
Emergency Management of $60,000 in fiscal year 2013-14 and $61,800 in fiscal
year 2014-15 for one Office Associate II position to administer the
educational benefits program. |
|
Removing the
academic year limit that children of certain veterans have to complete 120
credit hours under the laws regarding
postsecondary tuition waivers may increase the amount of tuition revenue
waived by the State's public postsecondary educational institutions beginning
in fiscal year 2013-14. The impact
will depend on actual experience. |
|
Additional costs
to the University of Maine System, the Maine Community College System and
Maine Maritime Academy to provide the required information to the Bureau of
Veterans Services within the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency
Management can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. |
