|
This legislation
directs the Department of Transportation to make Interstate 295 a toll
highway if an additional lane is added on any portion. The department has indicated that based
upon capacity on Interstate 295, construction of an additional lane is at
least 10 years away. Additionally,
current federal law prohibits tolling on Federal-aid highways. Any tolling on Interstate 295 would require
action by the US Congress. |
