Directing the
Department of Health and Human Services to apply for a federal waiver to
allow MaineCare eligible parents that lose eligibility but participate in
specified rehabilitation and family reunification activities to retain
eligibility would result in savings if the waiver is granted. With an
estimated 1,000 individuals potentially eligible to regain MaineCare
eligibility, the Department of Health and Human Services could achieve net
estimated savings of $150,036 for six months of 2013-14 and $299,399 in
2014-15, with savings in current state-only spending partially offset by the
costs of paying for the state-share of MaineCare costs. |
