Additional costs
to the Department of Health and Human Services to implement the provisions of
this bill are assumed to be minor and
can be absorbed within existing budgeted resources. The costs and the savings to the Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families program cannot be determined at this time but
would affect the program's Federal Block Grant Fund account only. This also assumes the reduction in General
Fund spending from elimination of the Parents as Scholars (PaS) program would
be expended on other benefits under the Additional Support for People in
Retraining and Employment (ASPIRE) program. |
