The general
operating expenses of this study are projected to be $1,500 annually in
fiscal year 2013-14 and fiscal year 2014-15.
The Legislature's proposed budget includes $10,000 in fiscal year
2014-15 for legislative studies.
Whether this amount is sufficient to fund all studies will depend on
the number of studies authorized by the Legislative Council and the
Legislature. The additional costs of
providing staffing assistance to the study during the interim can be absorbed
utilizing existing budgeted staff resources.
The commission may seek outside funding to defray the General Fund
cost of the commission. The Study
Commissions - Funding program in the Legislature has Other Special Revenue
Funds allocations of $500 in each year of the 2014-2015 biennium. The Legislative Council can authorize the
expenditure of any funds contributed and approved for this study commission
by financial order.
