§11221. Disposal of offal; littering
1.
Prohibition.
A person may not drop, deposit, discard, dump or otherwise dispose of a carcass, waste parts or remains of a wild animal, except waste parts or remains resulting from the normal field dressing of lawfully harvested wild game or the lawful use of waste parts or remains of wild game as bait.

2.
Penalties.
The following penalties apply to violations of this section.
A.
A person who violates subsection 1 commits a civil violation for which a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500 may be adjudged. Additionally, a person who violates subsection 1 violates the Maine Litter Control Act, Title 17, chapter 80 and is subject to the penalties set forth in that Act.

B.
A person who violates subsection 1 after having been adjudicated as having committed 3 or more civil violations under this Part within the previous 5-year period commits a Class E crime.
